I’ll try to get my report posted tomorrow but son and I went to Four Bayou pass and came home with 9 nice trout.

Same as you. I use a Four horseman popping cork hook for whatever plastic I’m using. It’s a death grip with no hook, 1/16oz.

I’m going from Myrtle Grove tomorrow morning as conditions look good. Planning to start at Round Lake and move generally SW as needed. Planning to fish drains into the lakes on the north side since tide falling and the breeze coming from the north.

Glad you stuck with it and found them.
Hope we get more Venice reports so I can better plan my first trip.

Appreciate you providing your Venice plan and great report. It’s given me the courage to plan my first trip there. Living in Belle Chasse I can’t complain about the distance. Hopefully I’ll be able to get there during October.

I have the 8 foot sportsman and works great most of the time where I fish. I find I use my spot lock trolling motor most of the time though because it’s easier to reposition. Most time when using the power pole it’s in conjunction with trolling motor to orient the boat when tide or wind wants to point it in a direction I don’t want.

Doesn’t look like it has those abilities. I don’t ever expect it to fully compete with GED. I see myself using my iPad and scouting while watching tv at night. I haven’t progressed to putting spots and routes onto my navigation but won’t help those that do.

I agree it’s not much more to run there and will for the next few months. I mainly fished just north of Grand Isle or Bay Long area last year and did fine.
