Tuesday and Wednesday are prime days for the Pen and Michaud canal. I will be taking a morning off one of those days to give it a go.

Chartreuse beetle it was. Caught 2-1 to the Marker 54. That is the go to in Lake Decade. I thought jigging might produce some bigger trout, but it appears they never made it in this year.

Helluva a day. I should have ran over to the ICW earlier, instead of playing with the undersized trout.

Brotha. Was that you that posted the pic on the Rigolet’s page. 😂. They are convinced I was undercover.

Slip cork might be the ticket. I’ve done it a few times and it never crossed my mind. Thanks

Man. Hell of a report. I live so close to the south shore of the lake and neglect it for some reason. You have me reconsidering my plans going forward. Thanks again.

Thanks for the report. I had one of those days a couple weeks ago. My problem is I will know it’s not a good day to go, but if it’s my only day, I’m going.

Less traffic than bait inc and they have a cleaning table. I go there for those two reasons. If you want live bait they have it too.

I’m gonna head out to Bayou B late morning tomorrow. Last day I have to fish for a while. Unless I find them biting in the Dominican Republic in a couple weeks.

Oyster Reef is around this area, marked by 10 or so white poles.

Welcome @carplips You are in the right spot. Before I joined a couple years ago I was going to name my boat “Dinner For One”. Cause that’s all I brought home. The lessons and community here will get you on consistent bites quickly. Good luck!!

Not too bad. Water was low last time out. I keep a pair of ankle boots in the truck for solo launching. That’s all you will need. I’m heading back out there Thursday as the cold front will have settled and most folks will be too hung over to fish. Should be a good day with the falling tide as well.

Spot on. Outside of the coursework and Devin’s knowledge, this place thrives not because we catch fish, but because we want to know why we are catching (or not). There is something about putting a plan together and having other anglers provide feedback and then going to execute. That’s a winning formula! Happy Thanksgiving! And 🍻 to many more on LAFB!
