I have to ask, how do you keep that jig head from catching the bottom? I fished drop shot yesterday with dead shrimp and I must have retied 15 lines, no kidding. I know drip shot is different and more likely to get caught, but I tried jigging a matrix shad and got that caught too. After reading your report, which was great by the way, I’m realizing that I gave up too quick on that plastic. I was using a 1/2 ounce, maybe that was too heavy?

Yep, you taught me about the dead end canals last winter and I’m looking forward to that cold front

I’m going to hit Hopedale tomorrow and stay around St. Malo because if there’s no water moving I feel like I can cruise the rocks in the Mr. Go, or God forbid, last resort go to the rock wall

Thanks for the report….I was planning on Sweetwater Marina tomorrow but I think I will Hopedale Marina and go around the Mr. Go and maybe up the marsh.

I dod Delacroix two weekends ago and caught a bull red and then a keeper trout on my 2nd and 3rd cast when it was still dark out………..and then northing the rest of the day. Someother people had done well, but not me.

Thanks so much for the report, this is the value of the site, to document our bad days just as much as our good days. I’ll post tomorrow

It’s kind of funny how cleaning fish at that station is always an adventure because they have the most aggressive pelicans in the world there. I hit one with a hose one time to back him off and he just stood there and looked at me

I kept my boat at Sweetwater Marina last year but took it out in December because I remember how low that water gets out there. That’s why I went out of Hopedale the last few weeks, because you can always hit the Mr. Go if the water is crazy low.

Don’t go to Hopedale Marina though , go to Campo’s if you’re going down there, because they’re remodeling there fish cleaning station and it’s not up now. We had to go to Campos to clean our fish. I’ll make that announcement to the group in another post
