Had a great summer in Breton sound targeting the big girls. Had a couple of 22” and two at 23”. Not all caught by me though!

I’m going to plan a trip out that way this weekend too. Looks like you have a pretty solid east win with some stronger gusts, especially later in the day. There is a decent tide predicted to fall until 11:12 AM, but I would expect for it to be blunted by the wind. I could be way off here but I would try to plan some spots that were near points/chokes on the east side of Bayous to get a little protected and find some moving water. You may be looking at a dead period regarding tide from 10:30ish to 12. I like to use that time to make a run if you were going to. So for example if you wanted to fish the MRGO and the biloxi marsh I like to fish one area until the tide slacks and use the time for tide change to move.
I am a complete novice though so take this with a grain of salt! Best of luck man

My friend saw Chas’ post on facebook and begged me to go. We got to the bridge at 3 and fished until 5:30. caught 8 hammers and lost one 20”+ at the boat. Had to throw back two flounder and I intentionally broke off on a redfish.
Going back tomorrow and will post a report!

This is somewhat related but I was thinking about a night fishing run. Think it’s too early or that there won’t be much action with this neap tide?

Awesome report man! I’m itching to go down there ASAP. I have taken a couple quick trips out of shell beach and am SO tired of measuring fish. I would take adventure and catching fewer tanks any day. Just trying to find a 36V trolling motor before I do because I got into a hairy situation last year with my 24V setup

I had the afternoon free so I went and checked it out! I have no experience with Lake P so I just trolled until I saw structure/bait. Caught a few throwbacks and a flounder! Talked to a fella who claims he did will yesterday. As a complete novice of the causeway, is there a general area that is worth focusing on?

Do we think the fall pattern is here or just getting ready?

So I was wondering two things:
1. Do you think the trout are still out in the sound and this is just a result of dirty water and it being an off day or do you think they have began working their way back inside?
2. With what you saw everywhere related to Central, why would you go there given the chance?
I’m hesitant to give up on the sound because it has been so much fun running around out there. Sean and I actually saw the same bioluminescence last week in a report that we haven’t had time to post! (Very fun but average day. Caught about 14 keepers at 7 different wells not really getting a consistent pattern). I know they are catching decent in EBM so maybe switch gears a bit?

Me and fellow member Sean were fishing the sound that same day. We knew it was going to be a weird one due to the tide but we wanted to make it happen anyway with similar results. Great work man and way to tweak your patterns building on that success in Hackberry!

I appreciate it man! My friends were catching higher numbers elsewhere over the summer but I would rather catch 10 fatties than sort through 40 throwback/barely over 13”. It was really fun. I was launching predominantly out of Hopedale and making the 45 minute run, so you don’t necessarily HAVE to launch Venice.

Haha yeah I have met them once and they seemed really nice. I should probably delete this because I don’t want there to be any animosity but it just gets to me every time and I feel like I must be crazy because everyone else LOVES it.
