Great report, I would love to get over that way this year.
I saw a thought in there that I wanted to ask about.
You said it was almost chocolate milk, but you still fished anyway.
Did you do anything different or was it the same old?
Retrieve, sent, Dark lure color?
in the Vermilion bay, it gets that way a lot, and when the water gets like that I pretty much just go scouting for clean water. Still think there are some fish in some of that chocolate milk.
This is an area I struggle, a lot.
(edit)
Wait, some how I read over all that 2 times.
Wow, that bad.
Never mind. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge

Just saw Fresh water city was reporting really low water temps in the 30’s
Vermilion bay by Cypermount Point looks to be holding into the 40’s. So, maybe when this done that will be the place to find all the trout

I will say I was looking at trying to find points to fish in shark bayou and the reef to the west of the south entrance it’s connected to a pretty large point. Seemed like some good spots to start.

Thank you for that input.

Thank you, they enjoy it and think its always an adventure when we go out.

Thank you for another great idea.
I have heard of those, where did you get yours?

for $40 that is not a bad deal.
I will take a look into this as well.
Mine was just leaking from where the fill hose meets the outlet of the pump.
So it was dripping and honestly probably would have been fine. Just don’t like leaks into my haul of my boat. Had a bad experience and a little gun-shy.
But that cooler may work to buy live bait the night before we go and keep them alive. Till we get into the water.

I actually have 4 kids from 12 down to 2.
The 2 like going out on the boat and exploring is the 5 yr and 12 yr.
They just love being out on the water, but love it more when we are catching fish.
That is some great insight and ideas, I will have to put into practice with them. Very much appreciate, and I am very grateful for your insights about keeping the casting outside. 😂
I will get them started practicing outside with just a lead weight to try to learn more about how to cast. I think that will help as you stated.
I will also at least worse case use dead bait, just haven’t tired that before. I see they have some pre Brined dead bait at Walmart and academy. That may help if we miss out on live bait.
Thank you again for reaching out that was incredible knowledge drop.
