I hit the rocks pretty hard too with the same result as you. Nada. Did you try the other side of MRGO? I picked up a few on a flat on that side but it took me 6 hours!

I had a bit of success there 12/30, but I’ve been skunked there more times than I care to admit. Was it crowded?

Epic day! Sometimes you just gotta ditch responsibilities and go fishing. Where did you launch?

That’s awesome! I’ve been taking my girls since they were that age.

Saw one swimming through the pass between MRGO and Martello castle a couple of years ago. Awesome sight, just lazily swimming a few inches below the surface 20 ft from my boat.

I was 30 yards off the rocks in MRGO today, casting toward the rocks, and a guy idled right between me and the rocks. At least he was idling, LOL.

I haven’t decided either. Let me know and I’ll try to connect.

Where do you launch in Lafitte? I’ve only been there once many years ago. I remember fishing the Pen and some canals. I have no idea where we launched.

    Is the Seabrook launch good/safe?

Haha, because it’s so much fun to own and maintain a boat! Yeah, not so much – my power trim/tilt took a dump right after putting the boat back on the trailer.

All the bigger fish came from a flat right off the spoil canal that was about 2.5′ deep. After that I kept trying similar spots with no luck. We only fished until about 1 pm and then had to head back. The tide seemed to have slowed way down by then anyway.
