I did not go all the way to the rocks. I have no idea what flat you’re talking about.
Look at BC on Navionics and you’ll see a ledge in about 20ft of water on the northwest side. It is by that canal that runs to the northwest and the ledge runs all the way to the dredge pipe they have staged there. This is closer to the river than it is to the rocks at the end of BC. There may be birds spread across an area to give it away. We did fish the birds and we caught fish, but it was not like fishing birds diving on shrimp. I think they were just eating dead bait that floated to the surface. I never got a good look.
You can fish it with a half ounce jig, but an HDS worked better. Even if you don’t see bait balls, they are probably there glued to the bottom. You will need to cast to be sure.
