As much as I love the idea of fishing straight mono, I personally can’t go back to it. I’ve tried on a number of occasions to use mono, particularly in the winter. I like the stretch of the mono while actively jigging, but when it comes to detecting the bite, braid takes the cake.
I think if I switched every pole I owned to mono after a while I may adjust, but switching back and forth is hard for me
