1. I really have no idea. Maybe the mother lode of trout is in East Bay or west of the River. Without more TOW I cannot be certain. It’s possible that I just missed them.
2. Because Central has deeper water, is closer to the deeper/saltier water of the Gulf and could have better water than the Pea Soup Hell I saw everywhere else. That and it has way more platforms to fish. You can spend all day there. Or it could be a total waste of time and gas. I do know that is where many guides were running in 2019 during the height of the Freshening.
Maybe the trout moved up into EBM. It’s worth looking at. I just need to get a 24′ bay boat with a 100 gallon tank and cover water like a fiend for a week straight.
I like to think that I’m pretty good at finding/catching fish, but my Achilles Heel is that I do not tap my angler’s network at all. I only go off the same fishing reports everyone else has access to. I’m very hard headed about this. It really wouldn’t hurt to just ask folks I know who fish out there. LOL
That and I used to fish way more often, so I would have recent personal experience to go off of. Running in the blind can be tough, and that’s what I learned last week.
